ESSENTIAL STEPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL NDIS MEETING: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE

Learn how to effectively prepare for your NDIS meeting with these essential steps. Ensure you have all the necessary documents, tell your story effectively, and set clear goals to get the most out of your NDIS plan.

Preparing for your NDIS meeting is crucial for achieving your goals and getting the most out of your plan. Many participants feel overwhelmed, but with the right preparation, you can confidently approach your next NDIS meeting.

Enhanced Understanding: Educating your planner about your situation helps them tailor the plan to your needs.

Clear Communication: Providing detailed information ensures your planner understands your daily challenges.

Goal Alignment: Setting clear goals ensures you receive the necessary support and funding.

Increased Confidence: Being well-prepared makes the meeting process smoother and less stressful.

Go step by step

Tell your story

The next step is to tell your story in the best way possible. Your story should revolve around your personal details, so try to give as much detail as possible to give the planner a sense of what your daily life is like. Inform your planner about your living situation, if you have a job or not, your hobbies and interests, and how you get around.

Have Clear Goals

While narrating your story, it is essential to focus on your goals. Your goals are one of the most significant parts of your NDIS plan and your planning meeting because you will receive funding or support based on your goals. So take some time and write them down beforehand.

Take A Break

Certainly, meetings usually take a full hour or more. Taking breaks in between is really a healthy practice especially during long meetings. During the break you can jot down potential questions you would like to ask or discuss with your support person about some relevant information.
